Liverpool International’s Equitop Myoplast Puissance – can records be broken?

Puissance

Around the world there’s one class that is a sure-fire winner when it comes to having the audience sitting on the edge of their seats – the ever-famous Puissance.

Puissance, meaning ‘power’ in French is an iconic competition with Olympic Champion Nick Skelton and Lastic still holders of the UK record. This was set in London in 1978 by clearing 7 feet 7 inches (2.32m).

In the electric atmosphere of the iconic Echo Arena, home to the Liverpool International Horse Show – December 28th to 31st – the Equitop Myoplast Puissance has proved itself time and time again. It keeps visitors gripped to the final round and it also brings out the fighting spirit amongst the worlds leading riders.

Last Year

Last year, an unprecedented four riders made it to the fifth and final round.  The result was a three-way split at the top with Chris Megahey, Holly Smith and Louise Saywell all sharing the prize in what was a thrilling finale. A capacity crowd at the Echo Arena revelled in a high-class competition that saw all three riders – Chris on Seapatrick Cruise Cavalier, Holly with Quality Old Joker and Louise on Dassler – clear an amazing seven feet two inches.

How high will some of the world’s leading riders jump this year? Who will take the crown and is there a chance that Nick Skelton may have to relinquish his title?

Sponsor

Long term event partners Equitop Myoplast are continuing their support of the Puissance this year. They are also using the class as a platform to introduce their new joint supplement- Equitop GLME.

Liz Barrett, equine business manager for the Equitop Brands, said:

We are delighted to be sponsoring the Puissance at LIHS for the 4th year running. It is always an exhilarating class that the audience can’t take their eyes off. We truly admire the flexibility and strength a horse needs to clear the imposing red wall. This is why it is such a great fit for our two brands – Equitop GLME to support joints. As well as Equitop Myoplast to support muscle.”

This year The Puissance takes place on Sunday 30th December at 7pm and tickets are selling fast!
